“This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: \u201cIn repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.” (Isaiah 30: 15)<\/p>\n

It is important to know that the devil cannot make us do evil, he cannot control our minds unless we give up our will to him, meaning, we must let go of our faith in Allah. But every sinful desire we cherish affords him a foothold. Every point in which we fail of meeting the divine standards is an open door by which he can enter to tempt and destroy us. And every failure or defeat on our part gives occasion for him to reproach Isa Al Masih (See Desire of Ages Chapter 13)<\/a><\/em>
\n
\n<\/em>Mark 14:38, Jesus bids us to \u201cWatch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.\u201d If we do fail, we can find rest in Allah because His Spirit (Roh Allah) has been leading us and that same spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. When Allah presents us with a trial, He has a purpose to accomplish for our own good.<\/em><\/p>\n

What Did Isa Mean by Finding Rest in Him?
\nIsa Al Masih\u2019s famous words found in Matthew 6 tell us to find rest in Him. But what does that really mean? The closer we lean into Isa Al Masih, the more we try to emulate His character, the lighter our burdens will be because nothing is too heavy for Allah, nothing that we are faced with is bigger than what Isa Al Masih faced during His time on earth. Then Jesus said,\u00a0\u201cCome to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0 Matthew 11:28-30<\/p>\n

Isa Al Masih here is speaking to all of us. We are all weighed down with burdens that He tells us He can remove. The heaviest burden we bear is the burden of sin. Without Isa Al Masih, our sin and its weight would crush us. In Isaiah 53:6, a book found in the Torah, it says, \u201cThe Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jesus invites us to cast our cares on Him because He is the one who carries us upon His heart. Jesus knows our weaknesses, our wants, and where the strength for our temptations can be found, for he was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. What Jesus is essentially inviting us to do is confine us to His will, which is immeasurable and outranks every other being in this universe. He desires that like Him, we will have a will which is high, noble, and elevating.<\/p>\n

Why We Need Repentance?
\n“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7″ 14)
\nWe need HELP according to this verse, there are four requirements:
\nHumility
\nEarnestly Seek God
\nLeave Your Ways-Repent
\nPray<\/p>\n

What is Repentance?”
\nThe word repentance in the Bible means “change of mind” and “turning around”.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s look at some words used in the Bible to describe it:
\na. Turned \u2013 Acts 9:35
\nb. Repent \u2013 Acts 2:38; 3:19; 8:22
\nc. Return \u2013 1 Sam 7:3
\nd. Conversion \u2013 Acts 15:3
\nSo repentance is changing, a turning, a returning, and a conversion of mind and life in connection to sin.<\/p>\n

What are some of the evidences of repentance?
\n1. Godly Sorrow \u2013 2 Corinthians 7:9-10.
\n2. Reformation of Life \u2013 Luke 3:7-14.
\n3. Restitution \u2013 Luke 19:1-10.<\/p>\n

The motives for repentance
\n1. God\u2019s Kindness \u2013 Romans 2:4.
\n2. God\u2019s Patience \u2013 2 Peter 3:9.
